POLISH EYELET and KALOCSA LACE EMBROIDERY

You have probably never heard the words Snutki or Kalocsa before and neither had I  till the 1990’s.

Snutki is a very old Polish peasant embroidery which uses
mainly buttonholed eyelets in its design.
Kalocsa Lace embroidery is closely associated with the town of Kalocsa 118 km south of Budapest.

The peasant women made household linen with the minimum of tools. Fabric was simple, something like bleached calico (100% cotton) because it was inexpensive.
Their design tools were also simple i.e. plates and cups. They did not have tech drawing instruments.
If you are looking for something new, exciting, simple,
useful, pretty, then this technique is for you.
I update my designs now and then, if you would like to be added to my mailing list, please click here.
